William D. Martin

Jun 24, 1944 — Jun 4, 2026

Davenport, Iowa

William “Dave” Martin, 81, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. A Celebration of Dave’s life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Izaak Walton League, 8440 Harrison Street, Davenport.

Dave was born on June 24, 1944, in Monmouth, Illinois, to Ivan and Marjorie (Harvey) Martin. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Siefken, at Grace United Methodist Church in 1964. Together they shared more than 60 years of marriage before Mary Ann preceded him in death on May 10, 2025.

Dave worked as a supervisor for Caterpillar and later for QC Metrolink, retiring in 2012. He was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and reliability. Outside of work, Dave found his greatest joy outdoors. He loved riding his Harley, playing baseball in a local league, breeding, raising, and showing Quarter Horses, salmon fishing with his son, and cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Most of all, he treasured the time he spent with family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Tisha (Darin) Bousselot, and son, John Martin; grandchildren, Travis Childs, Kayla (Chris) Caudill, Cole (Lauren) Bousselot, Jessi (Kurt) Felderman, and Samantha Martin; sister, Becky (Steve) Bruno; half-brother, William “Bill” Siddall; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly. We would like to especially thank his main caregivers Roxanne and Robin who took wonderful care of him.
