William D. Bogart, 89, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 15, at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, beginning with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church or Recreation & Restoration (The Quad Cities Veteran Alliance).

William Dale Bogart was born July 20, 1937, in Rock Island, the son of Clayton Leo and Luella Fay (Williams) Bogart. While in the middle of his three years of service in the U.S. Navy, Bill married the love of his life, Lenora Ann Butler, on December 26, 1956, in Rock Island. She died January 12, 2018.

Bill worked for more than 30 years as a welder at John Deere Planter. In his free time, he enjoyed watching baseball, especially his beloved Chicago Cubs, as well as fishing, camping, traveling, and listening to classic western and gospel music. He took pride in his yard and especially enjoyed growing flowers, with double knockout roses among his favorites. He also loved feeding the birds and squirrels that visited his yard.

Bill is survived by his grandchildren, Tony, Derek, and Heather Bogart; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kailey, and Puratee; his brother, Jerry Bogart; many nieces and nephews including Suzanne (Steve Gorman) Bogart, Suzie (Jimmy) Moritz, Cindy Bogart, Dustin Bogart, and Mike Butler; and many extended family members and good friends, including Angie Owen and Jackie Kopf.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora; two sons, William (Linda) Bogart, Jr. and Jon Bogart; and siblings, Betty Butler, Clayton Bogart, Marilyn Bogart, Donald Bogart, John Bogart, and Sally Bogart.
