Wanda "Shelli" Tague

September 10, 1925 — March 31, 2024

Silvis, Illinois

Shelli (preferred name) Tague passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024. She lived an amazing 98 years and spent her life learning and teaching.

Her early years were spent in foster care with an amazing “Nana” who recognized her potential and encouraged her in all aspects of her life. Shelli graduated from the University of Dubuque and taught high school English until she and husband Tom started a family. Shelli volunteered for many organizations including the Girl Scouts, Camp Wyoming and Eden Valley Nature Center. She also worked part-time at the LeClaire Library. Her love of nature inspired generations of young people and helped all of us be better stewards of the earth.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Trish and Byron Burnett, her son Tim, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, her companion cat Tobi and her beloved grandcat Joey.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. In lieu of services, her family asks that you rejoice in the beauty of nature and spend time with family. To honor Shelli’s life, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Scott County or the American Red Cross.

Condolences may be shared at TrimbleFuneralHomes.com.
