Walter R. Parkes

Walter R. Parkes, 76, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, August 5, 2020, in UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Walter Rufus Parkes was born June 20, 1944, in Louisville, Mississippi, to Walter Cooper and George Lee (Scott) Parkes.

Walter is survived by a daughter, Christine Sanders of Oxford, Mississippi, siblings, Bernice White of Rock Island, Fred Parkes of Davenport, Wunice Mans of Springfield, Illinois, and Ernestine Gore and Jeanne Harris, both of Rock Island.
