Walter E. Fuller, Jr.

Walter Edward Fuller, Jr., 77, of Davenport, Iowa, died March 24, 2023 at the Kahl Home in Davenport.


Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 31, at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Walter Fuller Endowment Fund at the Quad Cities Community Foundation.


Walter was born in Davenport on July 31, 1945 to Walter Edward Fuller, Sr. and Bernice (Langtimm) Fuller. He was an only child.


Walter graduated from West High School in Davenport and then attended Southeast Missouri State University with a wrestling scholarship. While there he became second in the nation as a heavyweight wrestler.


After college, he married Sally Meister in the Mormon Church in March of 1970. They divorced in 1983.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister.


Walter started working for A.D. Huesing Bottling Works in Davenport in the early 70’s and retired from there in 2013. Walt also worked part time at Nautilus Fitness Center where he was a body builder and a fitness trainer.


Walter’s hobbies ranged from motorcycles, working out, gardening, downhill skiing, bicycling, handball, paddleball and golfing. He liked collecting artwork and his favorite artist was Bev Doolittle. Walt was also an avid reader.
