Aimee S. Hungate, 98, of East Moline, Illinois, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Pathway Hospice in Trinity Bettendorf.
Services are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with Dr. Donald Jackson of Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, officiating. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. to service time. Burial is in Rosedale Cemetery in Cambridge, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Illinois Central College in Peoria, Illinois.
The former Aimee Fern Scott was born December 5, 1912, in Cambridge, Illinois, the daughter of Mark and Mamie (Mizner) Scott. She married Everett R. Hungate on April 11, 1936, in Moline. He died August 29, 1974.
Aimee worked for the City Clerk?s office in Moline as a secretary for over 30 years, retiring in 1980. Prior to that, she worked for Attorney Carl Melin in Cambridge.
She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, where was active in the April Circle, the Edith Cavell Circle of King?s Daughters, and several bridge clubs. She volunteered at Trinity Hospital, and enjoyed needlework and reading.
Aimee is survived by her grandchildren, Kristine, Elizabeth, and William Hungate, and a daughter-in-law, Terri Hungate. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Tim Hungate, and sisters, Zella Bjorling, Isola Swanson, and Lucille Neumann.
