Virginia Jones Larsen

Virginia Jones Larsen, 84, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Friendship Manor, Rock Island, Illinois.

Services are 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at First Congregational Church, 2201 7th Avenue, Moline, with The Rev. Duane Lahti officiating. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service. Private burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is assisting the family.

The former Virginia Jones was born July 16, 1941, in Moline, to Wilfred Dixson and Vivian Ann (Brady) Jones. She graduated from Iowa State University and married Carleton Alan Larsen on June 1, 1963, in Moline. She worked as a dietician at Boone County, Iowa, Hospital and at Moline Public Hospital before starting her family. She later worked at First Congregational Church, Moline, for 16 years, first as Christian Education Director and then as Office Administrator, retiring in 2006,

In addition to the church, Virginia was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at Iowa State University, the sorority’s Quad City Alumnae Group, and Chapter HB of PEO Sisterhood.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 63 years, Alan; two children and spouses, Drew and Shayna Larsen of Boulder, Colorado, and Jane and Aaron Welborn of Apple Valley, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Trey Larsen, Sanna Larsen, Jillian Welborn, and Jaden Welborn; and a sister and brother-in-law, Judith and David Adams, of Prior Marston, Warwickshire, England.
