Viola “Fay” Shipp, of Moline, IL, went home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2025, at Unity Point Health-Trinity Rock Island.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26 at Faith Baptist Church of Moline. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.
Fay was born February 2, 1951, to Lionel and Zelpha Marolf in Moline. She married the love of her life, Barry Shipp on September 30, 1967. Fay was everything to him. Together they sold Avon for over 30 years until Fay’s health wouldn’t allow. Fay was a loving, devoted Christian mother to her three kids: Keith, Jon, and Sara.
Later on, Fay along with Barry adopted their grandson Jordan and became “Mama” to the end. Fay was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Moline, where she sang and served the Lord for many years. She was a Packers fan and didn’t care if you liked it or not and would always tell you otherwise.
A special thanks to Pastor Matthew Fox and wife Christy for their love and support through this time.
Fay is survived by her husband, Barry of Moline; sons, Keith (Kristina) Shipp of Moline and Jon Shipp of Moline; daughter, Sara (Mike) Ferguson of Moline; grandson, Jordan Shipp of Moline; granddaughter, Renee “Nikki” Shipp of Moline; special friend, Kathy Stepherson of Moline; brother, Frank Marolf of Moline; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lionel and Zelpha Marolf; brother, William “Bill” Marolf; and sister, Leota “Kay” Foss.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
