Vicki J. Pearson, 74, owner of Vicki’s Rocks, Readings & Books in Moline, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. The family invites friends to continue to celebrate Vicki’s life at a hospitality gathering with food and beverage immediately following services, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe. Burial is 10:00 a.m. Monday at Moline Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fryxell Geology Museum at Augustana College.
Vicki was born June 27, 1951, in Rock Island, the daughter of Allen F. Jr. and Florence (Nowack) Miller. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1969 and went on to marry the love of her life, Randolph V. “Randy” Pearson, on August 25, 1981, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island.
Vicki’s career started at Scott Community College in the early 1970’s before becoming a realtor in the late 1970’s. In the 1980’s she started her path of turning her hobby into her career, working at Readmore Book World & Rock Shop, managing locations in Rock Island, Galesburg and Moline. In the 1990’s she worked for Rick West Construction before going back to managing Readmore in 2004. When Readmore was closed in 2018, Vicki was proud to open up Vicki’s Rocks, Readings & Books in Moline, owning and operating the business up until days before her passing.
Vicki was a member of Black Hawk Gem and Mineral Club. She was a self-taught, gifted psychic, card, crystal and palm reader. She built countless close relationships with her female customers and employees over the years. She will also be remembered for her cooking and for being a very giving woman.
She is survived by her loving husband, Randy; her brother, Allen F. “Rick” Miller III of The Woodlands, Texas; Randy’s siblings, Melinda (Jim Thomson) Pearson of Davenport, Iowa, and Bradley (Deon) Pearson of Overland Park, Kansas; nieces and nephews, Allen F. Miller IV, Brei Miller, Alia Miller, Marnie (Matthew Marnell) Thomson, Brie Lopez, Hayley Thomson, Caulfield Pearson, Anders Pearson, Blythe (Jason) Montgomery, and Keefe Pearson, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Valerie Miller.
