Subrine Northern

Subrine Northern, 70, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Rock Island, Illinois, died Thursday, April 17, 2025, at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Services are Noon Friday, May 2, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Jerry Vesey officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Subrine’s memory.

Subrine was born April 12, 1955, in Charleston, Missouri, the daughter of LC and Rosie (Gibson) Northern. She worked as a CNA for many years

She loved dancing and listening to music, but nothing brought her more joy than time spent with her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Subrine is survived by four children, Melissa Northern of Springfield, Missouri, Margie (Gregory Roberts) Northern Roberts of Cedar Rapids, Marcus Northern of Rock Island, and Lashonda Northern of Covington, Georgia; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Della Bennett of Rock Island; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Anthony Gay; brothers, Eugene and Angelo Jones; and sisters, Shirley Gay, Alma Foulks, and Loretta Vesey.
