Steven P. Naughton, 74, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at The Ivy at Davenport.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.
Steven Patrick Naughton was born on April 23, 1951, in Elko, Nevada, the son of John E. and Virginia A. (Ewing) Naughton. He was the third of seven siblings and grew up with a strong sense of family that remained important to him throughout his life.
Steven worked as a firefighter through the United States Forestry Service in Bridgeport, California and was especially proud of his service battling forest and wildfires. He carried great respect for the work and for the men and women who served alongside him. He used the funds that he had earned working as a fire fighter every summer to put himself through the University of Nevada, Reno. He graduated with a degree in Marine Biology. After leaving the West Coast, he spent a number of years living in Florida before eventually settling in Iowa.
In his free time, Steven enjoyed reading and playing cards. He appreciated quiet moments with a good book as well as friendly competition around the card table.
Steven is survived by his two sons and his siblings, John, Kathleen, Patricia, Maureen, Terrence, and Timothy Naughton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
