January 11, 1972 — May 13, 2025

East Moline, Illinois

Shawn D. King, 53, of East Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.

A gathering to celebrate Shawn’s life will be Noon to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at Propect Park, Moline. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Shawn Demetric King was born January 11, 1972, in Union City, Tennessee. He married Rachael Gustafson and the couple had three children prior to separating. Later in life he found a second chapter of love, Dail Colclasure who they shared a child with as well and loved and cared for her four children as his own.

He enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He loved having a good time, cracking jokes and being the life of the party. Quite simply, Shawn loved having a good time and was never happier than when he was spending time with his friends and family. He was uncle Shawn to everyone and many people loved him.

Shawn is survived by four children, Caleb King of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Chantel King of Bettendorf, Iowa, Caitlin King of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Isabella King of East Moline; and step-daughters, Nova and Tesha; step-sons, Christopher and Jordan; grandchildren, Kion Caviens, Cameron King, Nevaeh King, Lillionna King, Kaiden Early, and Alister Cruze, Xavior, Raeleen, Jayden, Joyclyn and Kynleigh; followed by many other grandchildren; brothers, Marcus King, Ryan and Lamont Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Williams, and sister, Valencia Williams.
