Sharon G. Worthington

Sharon G. Worthington, 83, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, May 12, 2025, at her home in Buffalo, Iowa.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The former, Sharon Gene Jones was born on February 19, 1942, in Moline, Illinois to Kenneth and Beula (Larson) Jones. She married William “Bill” Henry Worthington Jr. on April 17, 1996, in Rock Island, Illinois. They shared many happy years together until his passing on December 12, 2013.

Sharon worked as a dedicated masseuse at Colleen’s for over five years before establishing her own loyal clientele. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline and lived her life rooted in her Lutheran faith.

A woman of many talents and passions, Sharon found joy in gardening and baking—her lemon poppy seed cake and apple strudel were family favorites. She also had a deep love for music, often playing the piano and spending hours listening to her favorite songs.

Sharon is survived by her children, Laura Peschang of Silvis, Illinois; Benedict Koeppel of Davenport, Iowa; Christina (Eric Mart) Lum of Buffalo, Iowa; Natasha Koeppel of Vienna, Austria; and Heidi Lore Ashley of Arkansas; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Worthington; and parents.
