Obituary

Sergio Patino, 60, of Moline, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Private services will be held at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Sergio was born October 27, 1965, in Mexico, the son of Jose Luz Patino and Maria Sancen de Patino. On March 11, 1988, he married the love of his life, Griselda Ojeda. Their marriage brought many happy years together and the four children who became his greatest pride and joy.

Sergio dedicated 38 years to Tyson Foods before recently retiring. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Moline.

In his free time, Sergio enjoyed listening to classic rock, grilling outdoors, and preparing his famous pork chops. He took pride in his garden and loved growing vegetables, as well as relaxing outside by the bonfire. He also enjoyed trips to Oklahoma, Colorado, and Arizona, where he would inevitably find houses for sale and start talking about moving.

Above all, family meant everything to Sergio. He deeply loved his wife and children, and nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Being “Grandpa” was his favorite title, one he wore with tremendous love and pride. His family was the heart of his life, and the memories they shared will be treasured always.

Sergio is survived by his wife, Griselda Patino; his mother, Maria Sancen de Patino; four children, Jazmin Patino of Moline, Sergio A. (Viviana) Patino of Moline, Guadalupe (Michael Campbell) Patino of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Giselle Patino of Moline; six grandchildren, Leonidas, Alceides, and Junior Medina, Leonardo and Aaron Patino, and Keanu Michael Campbell; siblings, Ma de la Luz Patino, Ma Elena Patino, Jose Antonio Patino, Ma Teresa Patino, and Gabriela Patino; and many nieces and nephews.
