Sandra Geneva Martinez

Sandra Geneva Martinez, 64, of Davenport, Iowa, died Monday, August 11, 2025, in the emergency room at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center East.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, at LifeBridge Church, 1107 Wisconsin Avenue, Davenport, Iowa. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.

The former Sandra Geneva Rankin was born June 6, 1961, in Davenport, the daughter of Clifton and Mary (Hammond) Rankin. She married the love of her life, Carlos Martinez Rodriguez, and the couple had three children along with many happy years together.

Sandra loved the Lord with all her heart and was always full of God’s presence. She loved to go to church at LifeBridge Church every Sunday.

She enjoyed shopping for food, going out to eat, and spending time outdoors, whether it be riding bikes, walking around the park, or having a picnic. She was a very giving person who always loved cooking for her family and others. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Sandra, especially her beloved grandchildren. She wanted the best for them and always kept them in prayer.

Sandra is survived by her beloved husband, Carlos; three children, Monica (Fernando Martinez) Martinez, Mark (Nancy Rodriguez) Martinez, and Maryann Martinez; six grandchildren, Jaziel Martinez, Isaac Martinez, Abby Martinez, Evelyn Martinez, Joseph Martinez, Jocelyn Martinez,; and siblings, Nancy, Sharon, Denny, Darrell, and Dale.
