Sandra L. Kemp

Sandra L. Kemp, 75, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Kahl Home, Davenport.

Services will be announced in the near future.  Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America.

Sandra Lea Walker was born March 17, 1951, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Harry Willis Sr. and Donna Vera (Paustian) Walker. She married her soulmate and best friend, Stephen Kemp, on June 17, 1971, in Bettendorf, Iowa. Sandy dedicated more than 35 years of service to M.A. Ford in Davenport, where she worked as an inspector.

Sandy enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, gardening and puzzles. She also loved going antiquing and collecting dolls. Nothing brought her more joy than being with her family, especially her pride and joy, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sandy is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 55 years, Steve; her three children, Jeff Kemp, Kathy (Mike) Perkins, and Tera (Christian Miller) Kemp, all of Bettendorf; seven grandchildren, Emma Kemp, Samantha (Brandon) DeMoulin, Miranda Perkins, Melanie (Brayden Moore) Wendell, Elizabeth Wendell, Payten Hopper, and Maya Miller; six great-grandchildren, Leyah, Lucas, Theodore, Soph, Sophia, and River; siblings, Susan (Donald) Banks of Bettendorf, Laura Bebensee of Davenport, Vickie (Daniel) Farnum of Davenport, Bruce (Debbie) Walker of Ohio, Phyllis Walker of Davenport, and Robert (Julie) Walker of Eldridge, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents; great-granddaughter, Cassidy DeMoulin; siblings, Harry Willis Walker II and Debbie Sanders; nephew, Michael Banks; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edith and Eugene Kemp; and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Buchholz.

The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff in the ICU at the University of Iowa for the wonderful care given to Sandy.
