Sandra “Sandy” Bellinger, 90, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at Friendship Manor Silver Cross.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5th at Riverside United Methodist Church, 712 16th Street, Moline, IL, with burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Rock Island National Cemetery.

Sandy was born on October 14, 1935, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Dan and Bobbie (Stacy) Rose. She married the love of her life, Page Bellinger, in 1957, and together they built a life filled with love and teamwork.
A proud graduate of the University of Michigan, Sandy went on to earn her master’s and doctorate degrees from Northern Illinois University. Nursing was her calling. She cared for patients in Michigan, and later taught future nurses as a nursing instructor at Moline Public Hospital, the University of Iowa, and Trinity College of Nursing, where she eventually served as Dean. She also contributed nursing research and presentations on the healing power of humor and touch.
Sandy was a longtime member of Riverside United Methodist Church. She found comfort and strength in the faith that anchored her life.
She gave generously of her time—volunteering with church activities, Scouts, Brownies, PTA, the American Cancer Society, and Relay for Life. Sandy will be remembered for her bright smile, fun spirit, and her kind, generous heart.
In Sandy’s own words, she offered these gentle lessons:
“Look at the positive side.”
“See the best in people.”
“Have compassion and show kindness.”
“Serve others.”
“Share a smile.”
“Enjoy a good laugh.”
Sandy is survived by her son, Todd and his wife Jennifer and her sons Anthony, Dominic, and Matthew; her daughter, Kara (Neal) Blanche; her grandson, Kyle (Laura Ponchick) Bellinger; granddaughter, Kiana (Sean) Dickson; great granddaughter, Olivia Dickson; nephew Bruce (Sandy) Schrock; niece Marcia Collins; and many beloved relatives and friends. She is reunited in heaven with her husband, Page; her son, Brad; her brother, Dan Rose; and other cherished family members.
Her family is deeply grateful to the staff of Friendship Manor Silver Cross for the loving care given to both Sandy and Page.
Memorials may be made to the Page and Sandra Bellinger Scholarship with the Moline Community Foundation, the American Cancer Society, or Riverside United Methodist Church.
