Ruth Bergstrom Brown

Ruth Bergstrom Brown, 97, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, December 8, 2017, in her home at Inverness village, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev, Michael Swartz officiating. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to First Congregational Church, Moline.

The former Ruth Margaret Chester was born October 8, 1920, in Monroe County, Iowa, to Clarence and Lillie Claver Chester. She married Donald R. Bergstrom on October 4, 1942, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He died July 2, 1978. She married Gale M. Brown on March 14, 1998, in Moline. He died November 15, 2009. She was on the Board of Directors of Friendship Manor and Community Nursing Service, and a member of First Congregational Church, King's Daughters, Eastern Star and Short Hills Country Club. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge.

Ruth is survived by her grandson, Thad Bergstrom of Tulsa; a step-son and his wife, John "Jack" and Sheila Brown of Rock Island; step-grandchildren and their spouses, Caroline and Rick VanDeCasteele, Sharon Widick, and Sarah and Jason Roessler; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands; sons, David and Dennis Bergstrom, and a great-grandson.
