Ruby R. Maki

Ruby R. Maki, 83, of Silvis, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at home.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

The former Ruby Rodata Mahaffey was born August 25, 1942, in Cherry Falls, West Virginia, the daughter of Darrell Morton and Icie (Kimble) Mahaffey. She worked as reservation clerk for Northwest Arilines, which later became Delta Airlines, retiring after 39 years.

Ruby’s greatest joy came in spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by two children, Gina (John) State of Colona, Illinois, and Shawn Maki of Kansas; grandchildren, Kyle (Braelyn) State and Sydney State, and Dylan, Audrina, Ariana, Jackson and Michael; and two great-grandchildren, Juliette and Landon. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, William, Glenn, Carl and Ronnie Mahaffey.
