Roxanne M. Wagner, 69, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation is 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, immediately followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, the family invites everyone to stay and celebrate Roxanne’s life with food and beverages at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Roxanne’s memory.
Roxanne Marie Elliott was born December 11, 1956, in Mishawaka, Indiana, the daughter of Donald and Joanne (Richards) Elliott. On January 17, 1975, she married the love of her life, Lester Wagner, in Indianapolis, Indiana, beginning a 51-year journey filled with family, laughter, and plenty of memories.
Over the years, Roxanne worked at Swiss Colony, Ralston Purina, and the Credit Union at Fort Knox in Kentucky. But her true calling was being a homemaker and the heart of her family. As an Army wife and mother of five, Roxanne was unquestionably the four-star general of the Wagner household. Every paycheck Lester earned went directly to Roxanne, accompanied by his simple and well-understood response: “Yes, dear!”
Roxanne never believed in growing older. In fact, she insisted she was “always 28 years old” throughout her entire life. While her family was living in Germany, she served as a Girl Scout troop leader for Troop 303 and masterminded a memorable trip to Amsterdam, Holland, that would become a cherished memory for everyone.
Roxanne enjoyed crocheting, going to the casino, and playing Bingo. She will be remembered for her Christmas cookies and occasionally sending her husband to his room.
Above all, Roxanne treasured the time spent with her husband and children, and took immense pride and joy being “Memaw” to her 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness.
Roxanne is survived by her beloved husband, Lester; her mother, Joanne Johnson of Indiana; her five children, Lester (Jake Newton) Wagner, Jr. of Davenport, Robert (Kristin) Wagner of Elmwood, Illinois, Renee (Jason) Coon of Clinton, Iowa, Ryan Wagner of Davenport, and Russell Wagner of Davenport; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Cheryl Burns, Linda Rae Block, Todd Elliott, Troy Elliott, Ricky Elliott, Brian Elliott, and Julie Greer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Elliott, and her sister, Kathy Lee.
The family invites friends to share stories and condolences at TrimbleFuneralHomes.com.
