Ronald W. Peterson

Ronald W. Peterson, 69, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away on December 21, 2025.

He is survived by his daughter, Katy Presley; his son-in-law, Chris Presley; his granddaughter, Lola Presley; and his sister, Linda Riffle. He was preceded in death by his father, William Peterson; his mother, Sherry Butler; and his brother, Eric Peterson.

Ronald Wayne Peterson was born on June 19, 1956, in Moline, Illinois, the son of William and Sherry (Butler) Peterson.

Throughout his life, Ron had a variety of passions that brought him much fulfillment. As a young man, he enjoyed spending time practicing archery alongside his father. He loved camping, where he valued the simple pleasure of sitting around a fire with loved ones. He also loved playing golf in his earlier years.

He enjoyed visiting local bars, where he made many friends and enjoyed good conversation over a beer. He always took great pride in his home and in the tomatoes he grew each year. In his later years, he could often be found in his comfortable armchair watching old westerns. He was very proud to be a grandpa and loved hearing his granddaughter's laughter, which never failed to bring a smile to his face.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on January 11th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Harley's Tavern in Moline, Illinois. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.
