Ronald G. Jordan, 84, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, Illinois. 

A gathering to celebrate Ron’s life will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the IBEW Hall, 1700 52nd Ave, Moline. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial with military honors will be Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11 a.m. Those wishing to attend should meet at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, at 10:45 a.m. to join the procession. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or Rock Island County Animal Care and Control, 4001 78th Ave., Coal Valley, IL 61240

Ronald George Jordan was born January 19, 1940, in Galesburg, Illinois, to William and Leona (Kinney) Jordan. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1958 and served in the US Navy from 1958 to 1962. He married Susan Erickson in 1960, and she died in 1996. He married Judy Black Mattan on November 1, 1997, in Las Vegas. He was a journeyman electrician with IBEW Local 145, retiring in 2001. He served on the Executive Board of Local 145 as Treasurer, was an instructor in the electrical apprenticeship program, and also earned a Life Saving Award. He was inducted into the Quad Cities AFL-CIO Hall of Fame in 2007. Ron served as Electrical Inspector for the Village of Coal Valley for 27 years and was a member of Moline American Legion Post #246.

Ron is survived by his wife, Judy; four children and their spouses, Erika and Lanny Adamson of Rock Island, Doug and Denise Jordan of Valrico, Florida, Bart Jordan of Coal Valley, and Brad Jordan of Milan; two bonus children and their spouses, Tricia and Sheldon Almeida of Oceanside, California, and Chad and Hally Mattan of Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Jesse (Toni) Jordan, Haley (Sean) Skapik; and Kaiya, Kaydan, and Kieran Almeida; his twin brother and wife, Don and Tudy Jordan of Davenport; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Waeyaert of Rock Island. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan, and sister Carol Ann Waeyaert.
