Roland "Ron" DeGryse

Roland “Ron” DeGryse, 85, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, June 30, 2024, at home.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date. 

Roland was born December 30, 1938, in Deinze, Belgium to Laurent and Angela (Damelinck) DeGryse. He married the love of his life, Virginia Meersman, February 24, 1962, in Moline, Illinois. He was in the United States Air Force and continued his career as a supervisor at Group-O for over 15 years. 

He was a member of Quad Cities Cruisers Car Club and belonged to The East End Club. He enjoyed boating, camping, baking bread, and spending the winters in Florida with his wife. 

Roland is survived by his wife, Virginia DeGryse; his sons, Gregory (Becky) DeGryse, and Christopher DeGryse; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Andre DeGryse and Carlos DeGryse.
