Roger W. Pate, 62, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022.


A gathering to celebrate Roger’s life will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, at Purgatory’s Pub, 2104 State Street, Bettendorf. Cremation will take place at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. In lieu of flowers buy yourself a cold beer, shot of Jack, or a lottery ticket.


Roger Wayne Pate was born November 6, 1960, in Blytheville, Arkansas, the son of Ernest and Sylvia (Jarrett) Pate. He earned an Associates Degree and went on to become an electrician.


He enjoyed fishing, celebrating the 4th of July, spending time with friends and family, watching football, and was an avid fan of Penn State, Chicago Bears, and the Chicago Cubs.


Roger is survived by his ex-wife, Melinda Pate; his children, Robert Pate, Courtney (Kyran) Davis, and Gerilynn (Chris Patricio) Pate; his step-son, Jesse Cantamaglia; his grandchildren, Naomi, Asher, Abram, Noah, Eden, Ace, Areia, Caleb, Marley, and Jaxsin; his sister, Marilyn Horner; his sister-in-law, Deanna Pate; a special friend, Dana Goodmiller; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Mike Pate, and Robert Pate; his sister, Cathy Benton; and a brother-in-law Doug Horner.
