Robert M. Olson

Robert M. Olson, 94, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Monday, September 21, 2026, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Burial is in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, Illinois.

Robert Marshall Olson was born April 18, 1932, in Sterling, Illinois, the son of Marshall and Lucille (Pitkin) Olson. He served in the U.S. Air Force and went on to marry the love of life, Lois Wade on August 24, 1952, in Sterling. She died December 7, 2024.

Bob was an international Lear Jet pilot and Mechanic for Palmer Broadcasting and Elliott Aviation.

Bob is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Debra Olson of Taylorsville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Rorick Olson, Trenton (Amy) Olson, Riley (Amanda) Wirtz, Grace Olson, Devon (David) Kroemer, Rowan (Andrew) Young, and Cooper Olson; and great-grandsons, Finn and Evan Wirtz. He was preceded in death by her parents; his wife, Lois; son, Erik Michael Olson; and brother, William Olson.
