Rickie "Rex" L. Clawson

Rickie “Rex” L. Clawson, 63, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 13, 2025, surrounded by the comforts he loved most after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rickie “Rex” Lee Clawson was born July 18, 1961, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Beverly (Cole) Clawson. He married the love of his life, Darlene Wright, on March 10, 1990, in Davenport, Iowa. He worked for Sears Manufacturing for over 35 years.

His motorcycle was his life. Whether tuning up his bike or taking long rides with close friends, the road always brought him peace. He enjoyed getting outdoors to go fishing or camping, but his greatest happiness came from spending time with his family and friends.

Rex is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene Clawson; children, Thomas (Ashley) Clawson, Rickie Clawson Jr., and Daniel Clawson; multiple siblings; and a host of others who loved him, including his childhood friend, Allan. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie Clawson; and his loyal cat and best buddy, Ash.

Rex will be remembered for his kind heart, humble spirit, and the quiet way he showed his love. He lived simply, loved deeply, and left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know him. And for those who knew Rex best, he’d want you to remember: Fuck Cancer.

Services are 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19 in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to services. A celebration of life will be held following services at the Columbus Club, 1111 W. 35th Street, Davenport, IA 52806. Cremation will take place prior to services at Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Rex’s Memory.

In honor of Rex’s love for motorcycles, the family encourages guests to dress casually, wear Harley-Davidson gear, and help fill the parking lot with bikes.
