Richard W. Redmond, 59, of Davenport, Iowa, passed Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf, Iowa. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Richard Warren Redmond was born on February 15, 1967, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Warren Harding and Rita Cecelia (Roundcount) Redmond. He graduated from Bettendorf High School and spent his career as a small business owner in the landscaping industry. Over the years, he operated several businesses, including lawn care, snow removal, fencing, and deck construction services.

He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf, Iowa. He enjoyed golfing, riding motorcycles, spending time outdoors, and searching for a good deal on a car. He had a natural talent for gardening and took great pride in growing flowers and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces. He was also a loyal listener and avid fan of Dwyer & Michaels on 97X.

Richard is survived by his brother, David Redmond of Davenport, Iowa; his sister, Mary Collins of Rock Island, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Allison (Nikolai) Turashev, Mark Decker, Heather Duran, Rachel Speer-Lawler, Brian Speer, Conner Speer, and Elle Speer; his brother-in-law, Harry Gordon; and his longtime friend and coworker, Brian Speer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Rita Redmond; his sister, Nora Gordon; and his nephew, Matthew Redmond.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to both St. Croix Hospice and the Genesis Oncology Team for their care of Richard in his time of need.
