Richard E. Ellis, 65, of Rock Island, Illinois, trasitioned from life Friday, September 17, 2021, at his home in Davenport, Iowa.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 27, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. James Anderson officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Squire Ellis for a fund to be established in his father’s memory.

Richard Edward Ellis was born March 10, 1956, in Rock Island, the son of Jimmy Lee and Castellar (Winston) Ellis. He was united in marriage to Mary K. Reken and to that union one child was born, Squire Lexington Ellis. They later divorced.

Richard was a fan of all sports.

Those left to carry on, remember and cherish his legacy are one son, Squire Lexington Ellis; grandson Squire Lexington Ellis, Jr.; brothers, Cleveland Ellis, Dewitt Ellis, and Derrick Ellis; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy Ellis, Jr., Johnny Ellis, and Sylvester Ellis; and a sister, Eileen Ellis.
