Richard L. Bivens

East Moline, Illinois

Richard L. Bivens, 86, of East Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at New Perspective Senior Living, Silvis, Illinois.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. A celebration of life will be held at noon on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Lions Club Park, Andalusia, Illinois. 

Richard Lee Bivens was born October 24, 1937, to Richard and Mary (Bopp) Bivens, in Rock Island County, Illinois. He worked Industrial Maintenance for over 30 years at Case IH and Hansaloy. He married Connie Bray on June 7, 1958, and she passed away on March 5, 2021. 

He enjoyed watching NASCAR, reading western novels, and in his younger days was an avid boater. He also enjoyed  taking trips to Las Vegas with his wife, Connie, and the memories they shared. 

Richard is survived by his children, Rick (Lesa) Bivens and Sheri (Mark) Bequeaith; grandchildren, Ryne (Alexcyia), Connor (Gary), Steven (Angela), and April (Nate); great-grandchildren, Alex, Nick, Colton, Mackenzie, and Juniper; siblings, Sue Shellady, Minerva Guinn, Thomas (Mary Ann) Bivens, and Randall (Cheryl) Bivens; and sister-in-law, Linda Bivens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; parents, Richard and Mary Bivens; brother, John (Linda) Bivens; brother-in-laws, Laverne Shellady and Donald Guinn. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to Richard’s siblings and Cindy & Bill Powers, for their unwavering love and support.
