Born on June 3, 1977, in French Camp, California, Phillip David Bynum, Jr. was the son of Melody Bynum and James Coley. He embarked on his 20-year career in the U.S. Army on June 3, 1996. During his service, he played pivotal roles in the Implementation Force in both Bosnia and Herzegovina, and served two tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following his retirement from the Army, he continued his career as a dedicated truck driver for J.B. Hunt.

In the midst of his military service, Phillip found his lifelong partner, Tanya Ruark, and the couple exchanged vows on August 16, 2002, in Killeen, Texas. Together, they were blessed with four children, Joshua, Nathanial, Brianna, and Emily. Phillip's devotion to his family was unwavering, and he found immense joy in supporting and coaching his children in their sporting endeavors. An outdoors enthusiast, he cherished moments spent golfing, camping, and grilling with loved ones.

Phillip is survived by his cherished wife, Tanya; his beloved children, Joshua, Nathanial, Brianna, and Emily; as well as his parents, Melody Bynum and James Coley of West Point, California. His memory will forever be treasured by all who knew him, as a dedicated family man, a loyal friend, and a patriot.

In his honor, may we carry forward his legacy of love, service, and unwavering commitment to family and community. Phillip's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear."
