Paul A. Petersen, Sr.

Paul A. Petersen, Sr., 77, of Davenport, Iowa, passed Sunday, March 1, 2026, at his residence.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family.

Paul Alan Petersen, Sr. was born on May 19, 1948, in Lynwood, California, the son of Robert Morris and Pauline Phyllis (Beaver) Petersen. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and dedicated more than 45 years of his life to a career as a computer programmer, retiring in 2020. Paul married Peggy Ball on July 12, 1969, in Bakersfield, California. She preceded him in death on September 6, 2022.

Paul had a wide range of interests. He enjoyed studying gemology; the study of natural and artificial gemstone materials; as well as ammunition and reloading, woodworking, and especially attending barbecue competitions, where he took great pride in serving as a judge.

Paul is survived by his children, Anaise Cisson of Pickens, South Carolina and Paul Petersen, Jr. of Davenport, Iowa; five grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and four step-siblings. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Petersen; parents, Robert and Pauline Petersen; and one step-sibling.
