Patricia Cecelia (Gaier) Moore, lovingly known as Pat, passed away on May 13, 2026, at The Vistas at Bettendorf at the age of 84, after living with Parkinson’s disease for many years.
Pat was born on March 21, 1942, in Chippewa Falls to Louis and Marie (Poirier) Gaier. She shared a close bond with her grandmother, Marie L. (Bergeron) Poirier, whose presence remained meaningful throughout her life. Pat graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1962 and married Robert P. Moore on June 16, 1962. The two shared many years together until Robert’s passing on July 22, 1998.
Throughout the Quad Cities, Pat became affectionately known as the original “Bread Lady” at the Freight House Farmers Market, where she spent many years sharing her homemade baked goods with the community. Her kitchen was rarely without the warm smell of fresh bread, and baking was one of the ways she connected with others and brought people together.
She enjoyed playing online Pogo games, visiting the casino, and spending peaceful afternoons at Vander Veer Botanical Park feeding the ducks.
Pat is survived by her children: Penny A. Callison; Connie J. (Matthew) Tammaro; Robert E. (Carolyn) Moore; Michael Moore; Kim (Lee) Bockenfeld; Terrie (Mark) Mahaney; and Beth A. Roberts.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christine E. Callison, Corbin B. (Jaclyn) Callison, Mia Tammaro, Maci Tammaro, Robert P. (Danielle) Moore, Quentin E. (Evelynn) Moore, Alissa Bockenfeld, and Luke Bockenfeld; and by her great-grandchildren Charlotte, Aidan, Edward, Piper, Randall, and Lucas.
She is further survived by her sister, Yvonne Goellnitz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Moore; her parents, Louis and Marie Gaier; and her brother, Charles Gaier.
To many, she was known as the Bread Lady. To those closest to her, she was spirited, funny, and entirely herself. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in Patricia’s memory.
Condolences may be shared at CremationQC.com.
