Nieves Gonzalez Olivas, 51, of Davenport, Iowa, passed on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at his residence.

Private services will be held. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois

Nieves Gonzalez Olivas was born on November 9, 1974, in Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Thomas and Bertha (Olivas) Hull Sr. He earned his GED before continuing his education, receiving an associate degree in computer science and a bachelor’s degree in business management. Nieves worked as a carpenter and was known for his hardworking nature.

He found joy in the simple things, especially walking his dog and spending time at the park. He had a deep love for music, tacos, and making memories with friends and family. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing soccer, swimming, and staying active through working out.

Nieves is survived by his daughters, Karizma Nash and Lucero Gonzalez both of Galesburg, Illinois; grandchildren, Amelia Gonzalez, Amiyah Gonzalez, Nakolis Spiller, Jamykel Akers-Nash, and Jazell Akers-Nash; parents, Thomas and Bertha Hull Sr. of Davenport, Iowa; and sisters, Maria Del Carmen Gonzalez Olivas, Lilian Gonzalez, and Veronica (Keith) Hannah all of Davenport, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews; and friends, Kardene Watkins, Irene Rodriguez, Maria Ysaiz, and Sophia Interial; his beloved dog, Kardi B; and many others whom loved him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Maria Bonifasia Olivas and Odorico Olivas; and good friend, Shaundra Miller.
