Nicole C. Pagels, 50, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Private family services will be held. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Nicole’s memory.
Nicole Camille Pagels was born May 28, 1975, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Norman II and Dorothy “Dotti” (Dalton) Pagels. She graduated from Davenport Central High School and went on to earn a degree in culinary arts from Kirkwood Community College. Nicole pursued a career as both a chef and a pet groomer, working in numerous area restaurants including Olive Garden, Applebee’s, TGI Friday’s, the Iowa Machine Shed, and Lancer’s Grill, among others.
Nicole had a passion for crime shows and murder mysteries, was a devoted music lover—especially of Prince—and enjoyed bowling. In her younger years, she loved a good party and spending time with her friends. Above all, her family held a special place in her heart.
Nicole is survived by her mother, Dotti Pagels of Davenport; two sisters, her twin, Natasha (Chris) Baker of Davenport, and Tianna (Christian) Hendricks of Lakewood, Ohio; her son, Zach Waskowiak; a nephew and niece, Drake and Brooke Hendricks; a special friend, Dave Crowe; and her significant other, Humberto “Buddy” Molina. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Pagels II; grandmother, Camilla Dalton; and special cousin, Bret Dalton.
