Ned B. Scrowther

Ned B. Scrowther, 84, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, at home with his family by his side.

Visitation is 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. The celebration of Ned’s life will continue immediately following services at a funeral luncheon at CityView Celebration (lower level) at Trimble Pointe. Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House or Faith Lutheran Church, Moline.

Ned Bingham Scrowther was born September 15, 1941, in Smithfield, Utah, the son of Verner and Viola (Bingham) Scrowther. He married the love of his life, Nancy Coon, on February 14, 1992, in Rock Island, Illinois. The couple shared over 33 years of marriage that was filled with love, laughter, and plenty of dancing. He worked at John Deere Foundry for over 28 years.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Moline and the East End Club. He enjoyed pool and billiards, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He also loved riding his motorcycles and trikes and was a collector of knives. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Ned. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Ned is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; children, Ned Keith (Debbie) Scrowther of Moline, Kammie (Martin) Alonso of Tucson, Arizona, Don (Barbara) DeLong of Beach Park, Florida, Rev. Dora Lee DeLong of Moline, and Christopher Ireland of Moline; grandchildren, Nita (Kyle) Bulawa, Keith (Heather) Scrowther, Heather Scheper, Jeremy Scrowther, Tasha Scrowther, Greg Ellis, December (Kevin) Simberg, Kevin DeLong, Megan DeLong, Eric DeLong, and Garrett Ireland; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Sharon Mason of Tempe, Arizona; and his loving dog, Alfie. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tammy Scrowther; grandson, Jake Scrowther; and siblings, Bruce Scrowther and Colleen Sugden Arnoldus.
