Nancy C. Scrowther, 78, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Trisha A. Rounds-Smith officiating. Friends are invited to continue celebrating Nancy’s life immediately afterward at a funeral luncheon in CityView Celebrations on the lower level of Trimble Pointe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Boys and Girls Club of the Mississippi Valley or Faith Lutheran Church, Moline.

The former Nancy Carol Coon was born October 21, 1947, in Moline, the daughter of Oscar Alan and Viola Mildred (Olson) Coon. On February 14, 1992, she married the love of her life, Ned Scrowther, in Rock Island. Their 40 years together were filled with love, laughter, and plenty of dancing before Ned’s passing on December 4, 2025. Their life together included many happy adventures, from camping and riding their trike to spending winters as snowbirds in Arizona and Florida with the DeLong and Alonzo families.

Nancy was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the East End Club. She enjoyed golfing, crocheting, scrapbooking, sewing, and cooking. Above all, Nancy treasured her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immense happiness, and she cherished every moment with them.

Nancy is survived by her children, Don (Barbara) DeLong of Beach Park, Florida, Rev. Dora Lee DeLong of Moline, Christopher Ireland of Moline, Ned Keith (Debbie) Scrowther of Moline, and Kammie (Martin) Alonso of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren, Nita (Kyle) Bulawa, Keith (Heather) Scrowther, Heather Scheper, Jeremy Scrowther, Tasha Scrowther, Greg Ellis, December (Kevin) Simberg, Kevin (Jessica) DeLong, Megan DeLong, Eric DeLong, and Garrett Ireland; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and lifelong friends, Carol Reed and her cousin, Peggy Brose; and her loving dog, Alfie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ned; her step-daughter, Tammy Scrowther; grandson, Jake Scrowther; and half-brother, Vance Grubaugh.
