Mireya Elizalde Moyao, 46, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Sunday, January 14, 2024, at home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Services to celebrate Mireya’s life will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Lulac Club, 4224 Ricker Hill Rd. Davenport, Iowa, 52802, beginning with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until Noon.  A funeral service will follow at Noon with Rev. Josue Rodriguez officiating.  Burial will take place at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport.  The family will continue to celebrate Mireya’s life with a funeral luncheon back at the Lulac Club following burial.  Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Mireya’s memory.

Mireya was born February 22, 1977, in Morelos, Mexico, the daughter of Lorenzo Elizalde and Julia Moyao.  She was a lawyer and enjoyed helping others.

She loved being outdoors, especially walking, hiking and camping.  She had a strong faith that helped her throughout her battle with cancer.  She was a true warrior who never complained, a true inspiration.

Mireya is survived by her husband, Alejandro Diaz; four children, Emiliano, Alejandro, Raymundo, and Fryda Valentina; her parents, Lorenzo Elizalde and Julia Moyao, both of Mexico; siblings, Patricia, Armando, Ivan, Miriam, and Julia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
