Michael J. Parein

Michael J. Parein, 86, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, October 11, 2025, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Michael James Parein was born February 8, 1939, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of George and Ruth (Hall) Parein. After graduating from Moline High School, he began working as an electrician for IBEW Local 145 on April 1, 1958. He dedicated 43 years to his trade before retiring on March 1, 2001. On August 3, 1958, Michael married the love of his life, Sharon Marie Jamison. Together, they shared 67 beautiful years of marriage.

He was a proud member of IBEW Local 145 and the National Rifle Association. Michael loved spending time in the great outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or camping. He also enjoyed sharing good conversation and a drink with friends whenever the opportunity arose.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Parein of Moline, Illinois; daughter, Kim Parein of Moline, Illinois; son, Craig (Serap Cilek-Parein) Parein of Kernersville, North Carolina; grandson, Kubilay Parein of Kernersville, North Carolina; and brother, Jon Parein of Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Michael will be remembered for his quiet strength and his steady presence. His family finds comfort knowing he is now at peace, resting in the great outdoors he so dearly loved.
