Maurice A. Crider, Jr.

Maurice A. Crider, Jr., 74, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Services to celebrate Maurice’s life will be announced in the near future. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Maurice Arliss Crider, Jr. was born August 26, 1951, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Maurice Arliss Sr. and Onella Mae (Dade) Crider. He was with the love of his life, Vanessa Pullman, for the past 25 years.

He worked many jobs over the years but the ones he enjoyed the most were as crossing guard for Denkmann Elementary School in Rock Island, mowing lawns and clearing snow. He also enjoyed riding his bike around town.

Maurice is survived by he partner, Vanessa Pullman of Rock Island; two daughters; two sisters, Carina (Terry) Cartmill, and Tracy (Marvin) Blue; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Rodney; and his sister, Judith Matthews
