Joyce Swiatkiewicz

Mary “Joyce” Swiatkiewicz, 83, of Silvis, Illinois, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Silvis Center in Silvis, with family looking after her.

Mary Coop was born September 3, 1941, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Maxine Coop. She married John “Jack” Swiatkiewicz, on May 7, 1960, in Rock Island, Illinois. They then welcomed their daughter, Diana, on August 12, 1961.

Mary helped her husband devotedly in all of his business ventures and travels. She loved the horses and her dogs in her years living on the farms. She enjoyed working and living in Florida, as well. Mary also enjoyed bowling, ceramics, shopping and spending time with her special sister-in-law, Jean Swiatkiewicz. And Mary loved seeing and spending time with her beloved granddaughter, Shelby Swiatkiewicz-Campbell, and ending those visits with their mutual “hugs and kisses”

Mary is survived by her granddaughter, Shelby, her sister Patricia, and her nieces and nephews, who she always enjoyed. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John, daughter, Diana, and her parents.
