Moline, Illinois Mary L. Drinkwine, 68, of Moline, died Saturday, January 17, 2004, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, with Rev. Jerry Helms, Connerstone Christian Fellowship, officiating. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The former Mary Louise Drew was born May 16, 1935, in Iowa City, the daughter of Fred and Mary (McIntosh) Drew. She graduated from Moline High School, and married Jim F. Drinkwine on January 8, 1954, in Moline. She was a mail clerk at the Moline Post Office for 25 years, retiring in 1997. She previously worked at Fresh Pak Candies and Rock Island Arsenal. Mary and her husband were avid marathon runners. She belonged to the Corn Belt Running Club and ran marathons all over the country, including Boston, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Big Sur. She was a member of Moline Gospel Temple. Mary is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jim; three children and their spouses, Freda and Dan Coons of Taylor Ridge, Rocky and Anne Drinkwine of Prairie Du Chein, Wisconsin, and Jacqueline and Walter Beaird of Moline; seven grandchildren and spouses, Danah and Steve Wildermuth, Amos and Pam Drinkwine, Emily Drinkwine, Sarah Drinkwine, Chad Beaird, Scott and Tammy Beaird, and Ben Beaird; three great-grandchildren; her mother, Mary Drew of Moline; and a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Marvin Stewart of Moline.
