Mary Ellen Serrano-Housley

Mary Ellen Serrano-Housley, 61, of Milan, Illinois, died Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at home.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be from Noon until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6, at Foundry Food and Tap, 5055 Competition Drive, Bettendorf, Iowa. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.

The former Mary Ellen Serrano was born June 30, 1960, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Ceasar and Margaret (George) Serrano.

She was outgoing, sociable, and was always the life of the party. She was a motherly figure to anyone she met and was a kid at heart. She enjoyed music. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and her cat, Prince.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Vernon of Milan; three children, Sarah Hargot of Naperville, Illinois, Karl Johnston of Binghmanton, New York, and Evie Housley of Moline; and siblings, Mark Serrano of Rock Island, Tom (Paul Albee) Serrano of Syracuse, New York, and Leonard (Diana) Serrano of Rock Island. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, David Serrano; and her ex-husband, Richard Housley.
