Mardelle A. Barber

Mardelle Barber, 85, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2016, in Riverwood Rehab in East Moline, Illinois.

There will be no services. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

The former Mardelle Ann Monte was born June 20, 1930, in Rock Island, the daughter of Elwyn and Leona (Gavin) Monte. She was a graduate of Rock Island High School and was employed at Illinois Bell Telephone.

She is survived by a son, Richard Barber of Rock Island, a grandson, Matt Barber of Pekin, Illinois; and brothers, Don Monte of Sacramento, California, and Gene Monte of Surprise, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Leona Monte; father, Elwyn Monte; ex-husband, Paul Barber; and son, Mark Barber.
