Luna M. Nitzel

Luna M. Nitzel, 67, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Friday, November 10, 2023, at River Crossing of Moline.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

The former Luna Marie Allender was born July 27, 1956, and was raised by her mother and step-father, Ruby (Viney) and Ray Romine.  She graduated from Rock Island High School and went on to work for John Deere Plow & Planter for many years.

She loved taking road trips, listening to music, watching her television shows, and spending time with her family and beloved dogs.

Luna is survived by her daughter, Gina (Patrick) Price of Bassett, Virginia; two grandsons, Erik and Maxwell Price; three siblings, Robin Scott of Rock Island, Donald (Julie) Allender, Jr. of Davenport, R.J. (Kari) Romine of Sherrard, Illinois, and Alicia (Jim) Sherwood of West Burlington, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews including Elizabeth Gilbert, Steven Scott II, Jason Allender, Andrea Allender, and August Allender.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Ray Romine, and Donald Allender, Sr., and a sister, Linda Allender.
