Laurel J. Pope

Laurel J. Pope, 72, of Moline, Illinois, passed away peacefully with her sister by her side on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at home.

Services to celebrate Laurel’s life will be announced in the Spring, with burial with her parents at Rock Island National Cemetery. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Children’s Therapy Center of the Quad Cities.

Laurel Jean Pope was born September 23, 1950, in Moline, the daughter of Richard and Marian Louise (Tillberg) Pope.

She worked very hard in her life, not letting her health difficulties stand in her way. If you told her she couldn’t do something, you better watch out because she was determined to prove you wrong! She even taught sign language to her dog. She enjoyed crafts and did almost everything with a smile on her face. Above all else, she enjoyed being with her family and friends, and was always happy to meet new people.

Laurel is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Michael Moran of Moline; and a nephew and two nieces, and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents.
