Larry D. Harding, 54, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Visitation is 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, immediately followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. The family invites friends to join them after services at the East End Bolders Club, Moline, to continue celebrating Larry’s life all afternoon. Memorials may be made to the LarBear Foundation to be established by the family.
Larry was born on May 25, 1972 to Bernard “Bernie” and Cathy (Roach) Harding in Colorado, but always considered El Paso, Texas, to be home. He had one younger sister, Amy, whom she lovingly referred to him as “Dino”.
He graduated from Irvin High School in 1990 before continuing his education at Airplane Mechanic School. He later moved to Illinois and started working at X-PAC. He also worked for Eagles Warehouse in Milan, and had a strong 22-year career with TMC Trucking, before a recent venture with Sears Manufacturing.
Outside of work, nothing about Larry’s life was boring. On any given night, you were likely to find him at Highland Park for league, or “just to hang out,” if it wasn’t his league night. If he wasn’t there, you might catch him disc golfing, on the golf course, at the movies, at a concert, adding to his ever-growing tattoo collection, or karaoke-ing it up.
Larry was contagiously friendly, and never made it through a day without making a new friend; if you were lucky enough to cross paths with Larry, you were blessed.
As a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, Larry may have made some questionable choices in life, but one thing you never needed to question was his loyalty to his children. Even though they are all adults and off doing their own things, he knew exactly what was going on in their lives and made sure to talk to them everyday. He always made sure to check in and know what his granddaughters were up to with sports, school, and their hobbies. He loved them immensely.
Larry is survived by his sister, Amy (Ray) Gomez; children, Olivia (Dustin) Bronson, Jeffrey Harding, Darian (Austin) Harding, and Savannah (Jakob) Harding; granddaughters, Kahlia and Brooklyn; siblings by choice, Terri (Mike) Cassidy, Charles (Misty) Hutchinson, and William (Melissa) Taylor; his ex-wife and friend, Vicki (Scott) Bowers; so many nieces and nephews; and too many friends to count. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and grandparents.
The family invites friends to share stories and condolences at TrimbleFuneralHomes.com.
