Larry R. Dooley

Larry R. Dooley, 65, of Andalusia, Illinois, died Friday, December 15, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa, after battling cancer for 3 years.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Larry Ray Dooley was born July 23, 1958, in Unionville, Missouri, the son of Larry Wayne and Betty Louise (Anders) Dooley.  He married the love of his life, Candy Korthaus, on May 20, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

He worked as a programmer for most of his career, first at American Air Filter and Bandag for eight years each.  He went on to work for Crawford Company, retiring after 22 years. 

He enjoyed golf, trail-riding with side-by-side vehicles, cheering on the Fighting Illini, and boating on the Mississippi.  Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and friends and especially treasured the time spent partying at Dooley’s.  He was a member of the Andalusia Lions’ Club.

Larry is survived by his wife, Candy; his parents, Larry and Betty Dooley; three siblings, Jeremy (Michelle) Dooley, Aleta (Michael) McKelvy, and Peggy Murphy; a brother-in-law, Matt (Jane) Korthaus; a sister-in-law, Connie (Fred) Crawford; and many nieces and nephews.
