Kristopher J. Lundeen

February 25, 1977 — July 5, 2025

Rock Island, Illinois

Kristopher John Lundeen, 48, of Rock Island, Illinois, entered into the arms of Jesus during the early morning hours of July 5, 2025.

After a lifetime of fighting hard to live, due to multiple medical conditions, Kris went to his eternal Home.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, at New Life Fellowship Church, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Additional visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to QC Mission, East Moline.

Kris was born on February 25, 1977 in Spring Valley, Minnesota to Ken and Karon (Shick) Lundeen. Kris was a rambunctious boy filled with an incredible amount of energy and loved to live life.

On October 27, 1983, at the young age of six, he was hit by a truck and his life was completely altered. He had an extensive time in different hospitals with many surgeries and procedures. When he was able to return home with his family in December of 1984, his life looked differently than it had before.

Due to the injuries he endured, he spent his life in a wheelchair and had limited ability to do many things. But he didn’t let that stop him from being an inspiration to all who knew him.

Kris loved Jesus and he loved people. Even though he didn’t know it, he lived his life fulfilling what the Bible calls the “Greatest Commandments” written in Matthew 22:37-39.

Kris’s favorite past times include doing puzzles, “spotting” flags and the number 25, watching Wheel of Fortune, eating McDonald’s happy meals, drinking Diet Coke, holding his Bear, going to church and most of all being with his family.

It’s been said that Kris was blessed to have a family that loved him so much. But his family would tell you, we are the ones who were blessed.

To know Kris was to love Kris.

He had a smile that could melt away anyone’s frown and a laugh that was contagious. In his simple state of being he left the biggest impact on everyone around him.

Kris left his mark in this world and he was completely unaware of it. He didn’t know how special he was, but anyone who knew him did.

He is survived by his parents, Ken and Karon Lundeen of Rock Island; siblings, Kyle (Nancy) Lundeen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Kelly (John) Lewis of Ames, Iowa, and Kim Hempel of Moline. He was uncle to fifteen nieces and nephews and great-uncle to four nieces.

He was proceeded in death by both sets of grandparents; his uncles, Craig Lundeen and Donial Shick; and great-niece, Evangeline Joy Stancliff.
