Kimberly A. Lehne, 70, of Port Byron, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at home with her family by her side.

Services celebrating Kim’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with Rev. Dan Witkowski officiating. True to Kim’s wishes, wine will be served at her celebration of life, and the family will continue to greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe, with food, drinks, and plenty of time to share stories. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Kim’s memory.

Kimberly Ann Howlett was born April 18, 1956, in Geneseo, Illinois, the daughter of Oran and Darlene (Gradert) Howlett. She graduated from J.D. Darnell High School in Geneseo and went on to raise her three children, Noah, Sarah, and Dylan, who were her pride and joy. On December 14, 2013, she married the love of her life, Dean Lehne, in Lavernia, Texas. Together, they loved traveling, riding their Harleys, and simply enjoying life side by side.

She retired from Sentry Insurance, where she worked as a claims adjuster for over 15 years. Previously, she made many friends during her time at Di-Chem.

Kim was one of those people who never did anything halfway. She loved to dance, sing, whistle, decorate for every occasion, and especially looked forward to fall and Halloween. She loved the color orange, which was perfectly represented by her beloved ’69 Camaro, “Mabeline.” Her Harley, “Betty,” was another favorite. A consummate planner, wonderful cook, lover of wine, and devoted Beatles fan, Kim had a huge heart and loved out loud. Her home was always open, and there was always room for one more.

She especially treasured her travels, with Italy holding a special place in her heart. But of all the roles she loved, being a grandma was at the top of the list. Her grandchildren had her whole heart, and she had a way of making each of them feel incredibly loved.

Kim is survived by her beloved husband, Dean; three children, Noah (Lissa) Hinrichs of Davenport, Sarah (Tom) Wroclawski of Littleton, Colorado, and Dylan (fiancé Josie Harvey) Sipes of Bettendorf, Iowa; three step-children, Angela (Rob) McKay of Commerce, Colorado, Brooke Lehne of Lees Summit, Kanas, and Joshua (Lindsay) Lehne of Kansas City, Missouri; 18 grandchildren, Lorelei and Isaac, Luna, Sunshine and Atlas, Lennox, Jonas, Mable, Lennon and Azyra, Madison and Tyler, Ryann, Olivia, Owen and Bella; and Elise and Harrison; her great-granddaughter, Marley; her brother, Kevin (Michelle) Howlett of Geneseo; nieces and nephews, David Howlett, Kyle Howlett, Kristopher Howlett, Jasmine (Logan) Kaylor, Brihannah (Shawn) Fields, Cody (Whitney) Sims, Alyx (Anthony) DeReu, and Cheyenne Corrington; her “bonus son”, Tye Nenycz and his daughter, Mattie; and her best friend since childhood who was her “twin” in more ways than one, Dawn (Edward) Adsit of Berthoud, Colorado, and children, Nathan (Kadie) Adsit and Ali Adsit. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oran Howlett and Darlene (Roger) Christance.
