Kathy L. Krack

Kathy L. Krack, 67, of Matherville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Services will begin with a visitation from Noon until 2:00 p.m. immediately followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.  Memorials may be made to QC Paws.

Kathy Lynn McDanel was born September 29, 1958, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Ruby “Tobie” and Bondella (Underwood) McDanel. She graduated from United Township High School in East Moline in 1976.

On April 26, 1975, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Donald Krack, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in East Moline. Soon after getting married, the couple moved to their home in Matherville, which became her happy place in the country for the next 50 years.

Aside from being a terrific homemaker and mother to her two children, Brandon and Julie, Kathy was a talented flower designer. She worked for Viola Flower Shop for many years, later becoming owner. After the flower shop, she enjoyed her time working at Advanced Dermatology in Moline.

In later years, grandchildren became the center of Kathy’s world. She loved playing games with them and cheering them on in their various sporting events and activities.

Her happiest times were spent with family, especially on holidays, and she enjoyed flowers, traveling, birdwatching, and caring for her many cats over the years.

The fierce love and devotion Kathy showed her family was unwavering.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband, Don; her son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Buffy Krack of Matherville, Illinois; her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Troy Larson of Alpha, Illinois; five grandchildren, Austin (Rachel) Krack, Ian (Kaitlyn) Krack, and Brenin Krack, Nolan Larson, and Bailey Larson; three great-grandchildren, Easton and Emery Krack, and Olivia Krack; her sister, Joyce Hofstetter of Silvis, Illinois; sister-in-law, Sue McDanel; and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Jimmie and Larry McDanel.
